Extrapolating on “One’s Point of View”

  1. Seek enlightenment by engaging & exploring alternative points of view.
  2. Never accept someone else’s point of view as fact.
  3. But rather as something to scrutinize, ponder, and consider.
  4. Elevating any point of view to fact without due diligence is both reckless and negligent.
  5. My points of view have undergone my due diligence and are my facts.
  6. Ideally, everyone’s points of view are their facts.
  7. But I caution you to refrain from accepting them as your facts, for due diligence is not a science.
  8. Due diligence is only as precise as the individual doing it and is tempered by personal principles, beliefs, perceptions, motivations et cetera et cetera.
  9. Once you have done your due diligence and have a bon-a-fide point of view, the collateral effects are revised and enlightened perceptions that may affect other previously held perceptions that must all now be reconsidered given a newly introduced fact.
  10. This I refer to as a rolling re-evaluation of all that we hold to be true.
